Watch your agency's week fill up with admin.
Covera's free time calculator estimates the hours a month an insurance agency gets back by handing intake, carrier quoting, claims admin, follow-ups, service requests and renewals to AI workflows. Six questions, and every assumption is shown and can be changed.
Question 1 of 6
How many people work at the agency?
Producers included. We use it to suggest typical numbers.
Your team's week
0 h of admin
How the time calculator works
For each task, the calculator multiplies three numbers: how many times it happens at your agency each week, the minutes of manual work it takes each time, and the share an AI workflow takes on. Your answers set the first number. The other two come from published sources where they exist, and from our own estimates where they do not.
Hours saved each week = weekly volume × minutes per unit × share taken on. A month counts 4.33 weeks. The payroll figure multiplies the hours saved in a year by the loaded hourly cost of an account manager.
Where the assumptions come from
Carrier quoting counts 30 minutes per carrier: in the Ivans 2023 survey of 1,000 agents, 60% spend more than 30 minutes per carrier on commercial lines. Building a commercial submission counts 60 minutes, the middle of the 45 to 90 minutes vendors report. The $42 hourly cost is the BLS median pay for insurance sales agents, plus 43% benefits. Claims, follow-ups, service requests and renewals have no published study: their minutes are Covera estimates, marked as such in the panel above.
The result is rounded down. It counts the manual work a workflow takes on, not the review your team keeps: every quote, email and policy change is still approved by a person at the agency. Change any assumption and every number on the page follows.
Frequently asked questions
Is the time calculator free?
Yes. It is free and needs no software or account. Leave your email if you want the report with the hours per task and the assumptions behind each number.
How accurate is the estimate?
It is an order of magnitude built from your volumes and the assumptions shown. Replace our minutes with the ones you measure at your agency, and the result becomes your own.
Which tasks does it count?
Submission intake, multi-carrier quoting, claims admin, follow-ups and collections, service requests such as COIs and endorsements, and renewal remarketing. A task your agency does not handle can be skipped.
Do the AI workflows act on their own?
No. They prepare the work: they build the submission, key the carrier portals and draft the emails. A person at your agency reviews and approves each action before anything reaches a client or a carrier.
