How Hello Risk got back 10 hours a week

Hello Risk is a commercial insurance brokerage in France that places a wide range of risks with many carriers. This case study covers its first two weeks with Covera, based on real usage data.
The challenge: comparing, advising and quoting across seven lines
In a multi-line agency, a good share of the day goes into necessary but repetitive work: putting carrier proposals side by side, writing the advice letter (the devoir de conseil that the EU Insurance Distribution Directive requires in France) before a client signs, keying the same submission into several carrier portals, finding a detail buried in a policy. The goal with Covera was simple: keep the advice in the broker's hands and lighten everything around it.
In two weeks, Hello Risk used Covera across seven lines: health, group benefits, auto, fleet, professional liability, contractors' decennial liability and personal accident.
The setup: agency software, Gmail and carrier portals connected on day one
On day one, Covera was connected to the agency's tools, with no integration project:
- the agency management system, Modulr (a French brokerage platform), so Covera can find the agency's clients and policies;
- the agency's Gmail inbox, which Covera reads to flag the emails that need action, and where it saves its email drafts;
- the Covera Chrome extension, which fills in carrier portals so the broker doesn't have to.
From first login to the last tool connected: 45 minutes. The first quote came out the same day.
A quote comparison in 3 minutes, the advice letter right after
The quote comparison workflow reads carrier proposals, lines them up side by side and drafts a recommendation. At Hello Risk, a comparison takes 3 minutes at the median, versus 30 minutes by hand in our benchmark. In total: 16 comparisons in two weeks, from health to professional liability.
What comes next matters as much: 14 of those 16 comparisons, or 88%, became a client-ready advice letter. It covers the client's needs, the offers reviewed and the recommendation; the broker reviews, adjusts and sends it.
Quoting and carrier portals: 90 seconds per quote
To quote, Covera reads the submission documents and prepares the submission: 90 seconds at the median. Lines quoted: auto, fleet, professional liability and decennial liability. On the submissions Covera prepared, only 2 values were corrected; the other edits filled in fields left blank.
The Chrome extension then carries the submission over to carrier portals: 24 pre-filled portal submissions, for 7 carrier quotes. No more rekeying from one portal to the next.
Emails written for you, waiting in Gmail drafts
In the middle of a conversation, the broker asks Covera's assistant to write an email. Covera drafts it from the client file and the conversation, then saves it straight to the agency's Gmail drafts. The broker reviews it, edits it and sends it from their own inbox, as usual.
It has become a habit: at Hello Risk, most conversations with the assistant end with a draft ready to send.
The results: 155 tasks and about 10 hours saved a week
155 tasks handed to Covera in two weeks, with 14 days of use out of 15. On top of comparisons and quotes, 78 conversations with Covera's AI assistant covered everyday questions and email drafting.
Covera prepares, the agency decides. Every comparison, advice letter and quote is reviewed and approved before it reaches a client, and nothing is sent on the broker's behalf. The time saved is preparation and data entry, never the advice itself, which stays the agency's job.
All in, about 10 hours saved every week: more than a full working day given back to advising clients and growing the agency.
How we counted
Each task is valued at the time it takes by hand: 30 minutes for a quote comparison, 15 minutes for a quote or a carrier portal submission, 10 minutes for an advice letter, 5 minutes for a conversation with the assistant, email drafting included. Conservative estimates, applied to real volumes.
