AI agents for Gmail and Google Workspace

Covera Agents builds AI agents for insurance brokers. The mailbox is where most documents reach an agency. With Gmail, Covera reads what the agents need and prepares every follow-up as a draft, whether the agency uses Google Workspace or a personal Gmail address.

Covera reads and drafts, the broker sends

Covera reads, sorts and places drafts. It does not send any email on the broker's behalf. The Google consent screen mentions sending, because it is the single Gmail permission that covers reading and drafts; what keeps Covera from sending is its own code, checked by an automated test.

Google Workspace

Reading message bodies and attachments requires a restricted Google permission. Covera uses an internal app model: the app lives in the agency's own Google Workspace organization. Once per agency, the Workspace administrator creates it in about fifteen minutes, guided step by step by Covera's settings screen, and pastes its client ID and secret into Covera, where the secret is stored encrypted. Then each broker clicks Connect Gmail and authorizes.

Personal Gmail address

For a personal Gmail address, the broker connects through the Other mailbox option, with a Google app password. Two-step verification must be on, and the app password can be revoked alone without touching the Google password. Covera tests the connection before saving it and never sets up outgoing mail.

What it unlocks for the agents

• Document import: the broker picks messages and attachments to add to a quoting or comparison file.
• The past-due collections agent reads carrier notices, and can be limited to a Gmail label, then drafts each reminder.
• The claims agent sorts claim emails and drafts the request for missing documents.
• The assistant searches and reads the mailbox of the person asking, and drafts a reply only on request.

Gmail is the only provider that exposes the broker's signature, so drafts can carry it. Covera follows each draft precisely: sent, edited or deleted.

Who sees what

A member only sees the mailbox they connected. An agency administrator can search the connected mailboxes of the agency, and every read is logged.

Other mailboxes

The same Other mailbox option connects any IMAP server, over an encrypted connection only: port 993, or port 143 with STARTTLS. Before saving anything, Covera tests reading the inbox, placing a test draft and adding its label.

Limits

Mailboxes are checked at regular intervals, not in real time. Assistant searches do not cover spam or trash. Covera does not train any AI model on agency data.
